Nate contacted me because he was in need of some pregnancy announcement photos and knew his girlfriend would be reaching out to me to set them up, he wanted to surprise her with a proposal during the session!! Cue all the squeals and excitement from me because 1. i’m a hopeless romantic and 2. i’ve always wanted to photograph a surprise proposal! So Nate and I set out planning all of the little details.

He had their first baby, a sweet pup name Lug, a new tag made to pop the question. Since Miranda couldn’t sign for the ring being delivered from a jeweler in NY, he had it sent to my house (no pressure, right?). Miranda had finally texted me to set up the photos that she had no idea had already been set up! So I went along, sharing excitement about the baby and suggesting the right things to wear while in the back of my mind knowing it would be for an engagement as well! I was terrified of slipping up. Finally, the ring and the day of the session came! Nate and Miranda pulled up to the location and my heart was pounding, i’m sure his was too.

So we do the baby announcement portion of the session and I am just as google-y eyed as can be at how sweet and perfect and in love these two are. The way they interacted, the way they looked at each other, their pure excitement… Hers, from sharing their sweet baby news and his over what was about to happen……Its a miracle I could hold my camera steady at all because I was a puddle of mush.
