Black and White Newborn Photography | Simple & Pure
I have found myself in love, obsessed even, with the simplicity of a black and white photograph lately. Maybe it’s the beautiful but chaotic season of life I find myself in that has me drawn to creating images that are pure and simple. Or maybe it’s that they make my breath catch in my chest just for a second as i’m overcome with emotion, remembering the brief moments when my own babies were so small. With a black and white photo, there is no distraction, nothing else to consider, nothing to take away from the simple perfection that is a newborn baby.
I live for what makes me feel. I don’t strive to create art that is solely for the eyes, I create for the heart. I want my images to be so real, they make your chest ache in the best way, like maybe if you breathe just deeply enough you’d be brought back to the time when you held your own tiny baby. When you could feel their soft wisps of hair on your lips as you kiss their head for the millionth time that morning. When these never ending days turn into months that turn into years, all we are left with are the memories and if we are lucky enough, with a little forethought, the photographs. Thats the beauty of a simple black and white photograph, there’s nothing standing between you and your memory.
